Who We Are & How We Help Golfers Move Better
Led by Dr. Michael, the movement expert for the golfer, Shore Golf Performance bridges the gap between rehab and performance. This practice was designed for the golfer and active adult looking for something different, new, and better. It is a place where the word “care” in healthcare is actually delivered on because we value the time needed to deliver you the care you need and want.
Shore Golf Performance represents a new wave of healthcare - one that moves away from the traditional healthcare system and towards a model that truly serves people, not policies. When Dr. Michael started this practice he had one driving force in mind… “to deliver healthcare in a whole new way, healthcare that truly prioritizes the patient/client, not the system, and healthcare where time is given, the root cause is discovered, and premium, world-class care for the golfer is provided.”
At Shore Golf Performance there are no rushed sessions, no shared appointments, and no insurance-driven limitations. Every visit is a full hour of one-on-one, movement-focused care designed around your body and your swing. These are important, but what’s more important is getting to the root cause of why you’re having your pain points so you can actually achieve the outcomes you say you want.

Meet Dr. Michael Edwards
Founder & Owner of Shore Golf Performance
Michael Edwards is a sports orthopedic physical therapist in his 10th year of practice, with a career dedicated to understanding how the body influences the golf swing. Originally from eastern North Carolina, Michael relocated to Rhode Island in June 2022 with his wife, a Rhode Island native, where he founded Shore Golf Performance to serve golfers in Rhode Island and New England.
Treating golfers isn’t just part of Michael’s work—it’s the focus of his practice. He has worked with golfers across every level of the game, including junior, collegiate, recreational, amateur, and professional players. This wide range of experience allows him to understand the unique physical demands golfers face at different stages of their development.
Michael works with what he calls the “serious golfer.” Serious doesn’t mean a specific handicap or playing level. It means golfers who are invested in their long-term health and performance, who want to understand how their body affects their swing, and who are committed to improving the way they move so they can continue playing better golf for years to come.
