The Who and the Why!

Dr. Michael Edwards, Founder/Owner

Michael is in his 7th year of practice as a sports orthopedic physical therapist and has a strong passion for treating the golfer. He is from eastern North Carolina and he and his wife, who is from Rhode Island, moved here in June of 2022.

While in NC, Michael served as the lead physical therapist for Youngs Physical Therapy & Sports Performance based out of Greenville, NC.

Michael has always wanted to start a practice and deliver healthcare in a whole new way, healthcare that truly prioritizes the patient, not the system.

He has always had a passion for the game of golf and is an avid golfer himself. So, when he set out on this journey he knew he wanted to open a practice that was tailored to the golfer.

Michael has worked with golfers of all ages and skill levels, including junior, college, recreational, and professional golfers. He had the privilege to serve as the physical therapist for the players at the Rex Hospital Open (RHO) in Raleigh, NC in 2019 and 2021. The RHO is a Korn Ferry Tour (KFT) event which is the developmental tour for the PGA Tour where the top 25 players at the end of each year of the KFT earn their PGA Tour card for the next season.

In addition to his doctoral degree, Michael is TPI Medical 2, SFMA, and dry needling certified.

Shore Golf Performance & Physical Therapy

Shore Golf Performance was created for YOU! We are here to serve YOU, not insurance companies. We exist so that YOU are treated the way YOU would want to be treated, in healthcare and in life. Unfortunately, that is not the norm.

Nobody should have to experience a physical therapist working with multiple patients at the same time. You should not have to see multiple providers at the same time. Rather, you should have a say in who you see, not for 20-30 minutes, but for the entire session, a 1 hour session!

Michael is the ultimate movement expert for the golfer!

We are proud to work alongside Todd Campbell, PGA in serving the Rhode Island and New England golfing community!

Todd is the 2022 & 2023 Rhode Island PGA Teacher of the Year!

Directions:

As you approach Cranston Country Club there are two parking lots in which you can pull into.

If you are coming from the southeast direction on Burlingame then the course will be on your right and you will enter into the FIRST parking lot.

If you are coming from the northwest direction on Burlingame then the course will be on your left and you will enter into the SECOND parking lot.

The parking lot is the lower parking lot that is closest to the water.

Upon pulling in you can then park anywhere near the “social/events” building (the clubhouse is at the top of the higher parking lot).

To the left of the social building is a little walkway that leads you onto the course and towards the driving range.

Once you walk through the walkway you will see a building off to the right next to the driving range. This is where Shore Golf Performance & Physical Therapy is located, along with The Golf Academy with Todd Campbell.

Cranston Country Club features a Full Driving Range, Putting Green & 18 Hole Golf Course.
