Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you accept insurance?

    No. We are cash-based.

  • Why are you cash-based?

At Shore Golf Performance & Physical Therapy we practice out of network because we would not be able to provide the high level of care and patient experience that we do at the rates that insurance companies currently reimburse for physical therapy treatment.

  • The benefit of a cash-based provider?

One-on-one, high quality, individualized care with a doctor of physical therapy for one hour. A more efficient plan of care providing you with clarity, direction, and better results in fewer visits which allows for time and cost savings long-term.

  • Will my insurance company reimburse me?

In most cases, insurance will reimburse you. Most insurance companies have a claim form on their website that you simply print out and submit along with your receipts and treatment codes that are provided by the physical therapist. The amount you are reimbursed is then dependent upon your “Out-Of-Network Physical Therapy” expense benefits. They may reimburse you for some or all of your physical therapy services. You may also use a HSA or FSA.

  • Do I need a referral from a doctor?

You do NOT need a prescription or referral from a doctor to come see us. Rhode Island is a direct access state meaning that you can come directly to a physical therapist without going to see your primary care physician or another doctor. However, under Rhode Island law, a prescription is required after 90 days for that particular episode of care. Because of our model, you would likely have finished your plan of care prior to 90 days and if you chose to continue working with us for longer then you could either seek out a prescription or work with us through a continuity program!

  • What is the No Surprises Act and a Good Faith Estimate?

The No Surprises Act is a recently passed law that entitles self-pay patients (not submitting to insurance) to a good faith estimate of their costs, upon request, prior to the start of their treatment. We will provide you with an estimate prior to seeing you based upon the doctor’s recommendation regarding your specific needs and plan of care.

Directions:

As you approach Cranston Country Club there are two parking lots in which you can pull into.

If you are coming from the southeast direction on Burlingame then the course will be on your right and you will enter into the FIRST parking lot.

If you are coming from the northwest direction on Burlingame then the course will be on your left and you will enter into the SECOND parking lot.

The parking lot is the lower parking lot that is closest to the water.

Upon pulling in you can then park anywhere near the “social” building (the clubhouse is at the top of the higher parking lot).

To the left of the social building is a little walkway that leads you onto the course and towards the driving range.

Once you walk through the walkway you will see a building off to the right next to the driving range. This is where Shore Golf Performance & Physical Therapy is located, along with The Golf Academy with Todd Campbell.
